<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of attaching a wiring box in which the wiring box can be secured temporarily to a building material, and the work for attaching the wiring box to the building material can be facilitated, and to provide the wiring box. <P>SOLUTION: In the wiring box 10, a portion 21 abutting against the lip portion Pd of a light gauge channel P is provided on the left sidewall 15 of a box body 11, and a thrust body 28 is projected outward of the box body 11 to thrust into the lip portion Pd of a light gauge channel P. The wiring box 10 is secured temporarily to the light gauge channel P such that the opening surface S of the opening Sa in the box is located substantially in flush with the outer wall surface at the side plate portion Pc of the light gauge channel P by thrusting the thrust body 28 into the lip portion Pd.
