<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, a new method for producing the same, a pharmaceutical composition containing the ACE inhibitor, health food and food. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the ACE inhibitor has processes for treating microalgae with a protease in an aqueous solution to extract peptides into the aqueous solution, subsequently removing water insoluble materials in the aqueous solution.
