PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil for machining copper pipes, which excels in lubricity in the drawing working or form rolling, little generates copper abrasion powders, excels in the dispersive property for the copper abrasion powders in the lubricating oil, does not bring about adhesion of the copper abrasion powders to plugs, or baking or discoloration of the external surface at the time of annealing, and causes the remaining oil after the annealing to be little in amount. SOLUTION: The lubricating oil is provided for processing copper pipes consisting of copper or a copper alloy. As an oily agent it contains 0.5-40wt.% of a fatty acid ester, a synthetic ester or a natural oil/fat. As the remainder, as a base oil, it contains a polyisobutylene having a mol.wt. of≥30,000, and a polyisobutylene or isoparafin having a mol.wt. of≤400 or a purified mineral oil of≤1,000 cSt. It has a kinematic viscosity of 50-2,000 cSt. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
