PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an image quality by reducing a stray light leaking around a light receiver. SOLUTION: A pixel contains a photodiode 1 being fitted to a silicon board 21 and conducting a photoelectric conversion. The surfaces of semiconductor regions (such as a charge storage section 3) in the periphery of the photodiode 1 are positioned at places higher than the center 1a of the surface of the photodiode 1. The peripheral-side regions 1b of the surface of the photodiode 1 are inclined, so that the periphery of the surface of the photodiode 1 is positioned at the place higher than the center 1a of the surface of the photodiode 1. The surfaces of the semiconductor regions in the periphery of the photodiode 1 are positioned in the same height as the periphery of the surface of the photodiode 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
