PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a reproduction device in consideration of various variations to a recording medium in recording. SOLUTION: In a manufacturing process of a reproduction device, an inspection apparatus 100 reproduces a signal from a recording medium recording the signal based on a setting value of index indicating level of causes, (for example modulation degree, symmetry, thermal accumulation, off-track, out-of-focus, and crosstalk to the adjacent track due to excessive recording power, etc.,) affecting deterioration of quality of a reproduction signal in signal reproduction and determines whether a fault occurs in the reproduction device based on the reproduced signal, since the quality of the reproduction signal is deteriorated by shifting a setting value from an optimum value and in this invention, the setting value is intentionally shifted from the optimum value.
