PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for measuring light emission capable of efficiently performing the measurement of multicolor emission, and to provide a method of measuring the light emission. SOLUTION: The device 1 for measuring the emission from the sample held in each of the wells of a microplate 20 includes an image acquiring part 40 for acquiring a two-dimensional emission image, a light guide optical system 41 for guiding the two-dimensional image of the microplate 20 containing the emission from the sample to the image acquirig part 40 and the sheetlike filter member 30 arranged on a light path of the two-dimensional image. In the filter member 30, a plurality of optical filter parts are arranged in a two-dimensional array state so as to correspond to a plurality of the wells of the microplate 20 and constituted of a plurality of filter regions mutually different in light transmission characteristics with respect to a wavelength.
