PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of building more comfortable indoor environment by generating positive and negative ions without giving discomfort to a user not only during combustion but also after the stop of an operation. SOLUTION: This air conditioner supplying the air heated by an incinerating portion 6 as hot air by a blower fan 5, comprises an ion generator 19 and a controller 30. The controller 30 comprises a room temperature control means, a combustion mode recording means, and a post-processing operation means. By applying the constitution mentioned above, the control portion 30 selects a first ion operation time of a long post-processing operation time, a second ion operation time of an intermediate post-processing operation time, and a third ion operation time of a short post-processing operation time on the basis of a combustion mode just before the stop, stored by a combustion mode storing means, after the stop of a heating operation.
