PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transplanter which can efficiently transplant seedlings. SOLUTION: This transplanter is characterized by comprising a conveying means 6 for conveying arranged paper cylinder seedlings 1 in a conveying direction, a separation means 7 for separating a paper cylinder seedling 2 at the conveying direction front end of the arranged paper cylinder seedlings 1, a funnel-like chute 11 for slipping down the separated paper cylinder seedling 2, a groove-forming member 21 for forming a planting groove A1 in a field A in a size having a slightly larger width than the width of the paper cylinder seedling 2 and a greatly less depth than the length of the paper cylinder seedling 2, a projected guide 26 for guiding the paper cylinder seedling 2 from the funnel-like chute 11 into the planting groove A1, and paper cylinder seedling-catching press wheels 31 for pressing soil closed to the upper end of the planting groove A1 at places near to the rear end of the projected guide 26.
