PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smoke sensor inspection device for an elevator enabling inspection of the smoke sensor disposed at the top inside a hoistway by an electric equipment inspector alone without help of an elevator maintenance operator. SOLUTION: The device for periodically inspecting the smoke sensor disposed at the top inside the hoistway using a smoke sensor operation check device has an opening provided at a top floor fire retardant wall 2 of the hoistway, a cover body 15 which is provided at the opening so as to open/close freely, usually closes the opening, moves so as to open the opening at the time of inspection, and also used as a smoke sensor attachment plate, the smoke sensor 17 attached at the cover body, disposed at the top inside the hoistway under a usual state and positioned at an upper portion of an entrance door at the top floor during the inspection, and an inspection door 10 provided at the top portion of the entrance door at the top floor, usually closed and locked, and unlocked to be opened at the time of the inspection of the smoke sensor.
