The invention relates to a flexible orthotic item of clothing (1) made of a stretchable material that is adapted to a wearer such that said orthotic item of clothing (1) exerts a predefinable compression on the wearer. Said orthotic item of clothing (1) comprises at least one band (2) which is made of a stretchable material which is arranged and fixed in such a manner to the orthotic item of clothing (1) that the at least one band (2) exerts additional compression on the therapeutically relevant area of the body of the wearer. The at least one band (2) is arranged symmetrically in relation to the therapeutically relevant body part. The flexible orthotic item of clothing (1) comprises at least two bands (2) which diagonally cross over each other. The diagonally-crossing bands (2) are arranged in the abdominal area below the ribs such that they follow the path of the abdominal muscle groups. The at least two crossing bands (2) are interconnected in the cross-over area (4). |
