A spectacle lens and a protective film composition for spectacle lenses are provided to prevent surface damage of the lens during transportation and to inhibit axial movement and surface damage during a lens processing step. In a spectacle lens having a protective film, the protective film is formed from an ultra water repellent coating solution obtained by mixing a viscous powder with a diluent. The viscous powder is obtained by mixing alpha-cellulose with ethyl cellulose ether. The diluent is obtained by mixing acetone with isopropanol. A protective film composition for spectacle lenses comprises 1-10wt% of viscous alpha-cellulose, 1-20wt% of viscous ethyl cellulose ether, 20-50wt% of acetone as a diluent, and 20-50wt% of isopropanol as a diluent. |
