A fabrication method of a display device is provided to fabricate first to third sub-plates through one molding process at the same time to fabricate the display device easily and to form a phase control plate selectively only on a color filter substrate to prevent a decrease in transmittance and contrast ratio in a transmissive area. An alignment layer(115) is formed on a first insulating substrate. A liquid crystal polymer layer of a liquid crystal phase is formed on the alignment layer. A mold for fabricating a display device, which includes a pattern forming portion, is aligned on the first insulating substrate, and then the mold for fabricating the display device is pressed toward the liquid crystal polymer layer. The liquid crystal polymer layer is hardened in a state when the mold for fabricating the display device is pressed. The mold for fabricating the display device is separated from the liquid crystal polymer layer to form a phase control plate(120) including a plurality of sub-plates(120a,120b,120c).
