<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and inexpensive image reading apparatus capable of stably inputting living body features, such as a finger print of a finger, etc. using a 2-dimensional image sensor. <P>SOLUTION: In an image reading apparatus comprising the 2-dimensional image sensor 1 in which a plurality of photo detectors are arranged in a matrix shape, a plurality of partitions 22 for maintaining a finger 7 to be a non-contact state with a constant distance from an upper surface of the 2-dimensional image sensor 1 are formed on the upper surface of the 2-dimensional image sensor 1 so that a number of slits 21 are formed therein. Since the partitions 22 for forming projected portions are provided, the finger 7 pressed on the upper surface of the 2-dimensional image sensor 1 is maintained the non-contact state with the constant distance from the upper surface of the 2-dimensional image sensor 1 even though its bottom is comparatively strongly pressed so as to be flat, then an image is photographed by the 2-dimensional image sensor 1 in this state by radiated light from a skin surface of the finger 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
