PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect short-circuit of a circuit on an output side at appropriate timing and to stop an output operation of a power supply in a restorable state. SOLUTION: When an output current detector 109 detects that current of not less than a prescribed value flows, a switch 114 is closed and setting voltage to a comparator 103e is made low. Thus, a maximum value of duty of on/off of switching becomes small in a switching regulator 105, and time becomes short until a value reaches the maximum value of duty of on/off of switching in the switching regulator 105. Consequently, time can be shortened from timing when short circuit is started to timing when an operation of the switching regulator 105 stops, and the power supply can speedily be stopped in a state where it can be restored.
