PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, an apparatus, and a program for maintaining the integrity of data in the case of switching between different data protection types. SOLUTION: The apparatus receives data and first protection type information, generates second protection type information, checks the data by using the first protection type information after the generation of the second protection type information, and generates error display on the condition that the check of the first protection type information is failed.
