A method for washing and drying an aramid filament is provided to remove effectively sulfate solvent remaining within the aramid filament passed by a solidifying solution in a short time even with a small amount of washing water. While an aramid filament passes between a pair of first roller(40) and second roller(50), the aramid filament is washed by washing water sprayed through a plurality of spraying nozzles(70) in a washing section(W), and heated in a drying section(H). The first and second rollers are rotated by the same driving source, and have axes crossing each other. The sprayed washing water is recovered to a washing water tank, and recycled through the spraying nozzles. The washing water tank has a plurality of chambers demarcated by partitions. The concentration of sodium hydroxide within the washing water is gradually lower from front end portions to rear end portions of the rollers. |
