A parking management system using LPR(License Plate Recognition) and a method thereof are provided to easily recognize a vehicle number by continuously photographing an entrance of a parking lot with an analog camera in real time. A parking management system using LPR includes an entrance managing apparatus(100), a number recognition parking fee accounting apparatus(200) and a parking control apparatus(300). The number recognition parking fee accounting apparatus includes an image photographing unit(210), an image reading unit(220), a number recognizing unit(230), a parking fee accounting unit(240), a data processing unit(250), a pass printing unit(260), a display unit(270) and a controlling unit(280). The image photographing unit continuously photographs the entrance of vehicles by frames in real time, and photographs drivers. The image reading unit judges the entrance of the vehicles. The number recognizing unit generates the information of vehicle numbers from the images of the image reading unit. The parking fee accounting unit generates the information of parking fee. The data processing unit processes the image and the information of vehicle number and parking fee, and compares the processed information with the pre-stored information of the vehicles. The pass printing unit prints the information of vehicle number and parking fee on a pass. The display unit displays the real time image of vehicle and driver and the information of vehicle number and parking fee in the corresponding area. The controlling unit is electrically connected to the component units, and controls the component units. The vehicle is considered to enter the parking lot if the changes of frames are recognized by continuously comparing the whole area of the frames. |
