PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING ANTHOCYANIN DERIVED FROM THE SHELL OF GLYCINE MAX (L) MERR

A composition comprising anthocyanin derived from bark of Glycine max (L) Merr. is provided to eliminate coronary sclerosis-causing factors by inhibiting the expression of VCAM-1(vascular cell adhesion molecule-1), ICAM-1(intracellular adhesion molecule-1) and COX-2(cyclooxygenase-2) and the activity of NF-kappaB and inhibiting myocardium necrosis caused by ischemia-reperfusion of heart, thereby being usefully used for preventing or treating the coronary sclerosis and heart diseases. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating coronary sclerosis or heart necrosis comprises anthocyanin including 72% of cyanidin-3-glucoside extracted from bark of Glycine max (L) Merr., 20% of delphinidin-3-glucoside and 6% of petunidin-3-glucoside as an effective ingredient and is characterized in that it inhibits the expression of VCAM-1(vascular cell adhesion molecule-1), ICAM-1(intracellular adhesion molecule-1) and COX-2(cyclooxygenase-2) expressed by TNF-alpha and the activity of NF-kappaB.
