<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of restricting recording of image data onto recording paper and storing the image data when the number of recording paper sheets being recorded within a predetermined period of time exceeds a preset number. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus comprising a recording means for recording image data onto recording paper, there are included an operating unit which accepts inputs of various operating instructions, and an output means for outputting the image data onto electronic paper. Said operating unit includes an alternative output key for accepting an instruction to output the image data onto the electronic paper and a start key, and the output instruction is accepted by the alternative output key.
