<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which improves the alignment performance of a paper sheet and an image while suppressing the degradation in productivity. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 is equipped with image forming sections (10, 31, 32) which form the electrostatic latent images by scanning the surface of an image carrier 12 with exposure light, and forms the images consisting of fixed toner images on the paper sheets by finally transferring and fixing the toner images obtained by developing the electrostatic latent images with toners onto the conveyed paper sheets, and paper sheet conveyance sections (20, 30, 34) which convey the paper sheets on the paper sheet conveyance path R passing through the image forming sections. The image forming section adjusts the latent image writing position in the transverse direction perpendicular to the conveyance direction of the paper sheet on the surface of the image carrier 12, thereby adjusting the image forming position in the transverse direction. The paper sheet conveyance section is arranged nearer the upstream side in the paper sheet conveyance direction than the image forming section and is equipped with a paper sheet shift section 256 which adjusts the position in the transverse direction of the paper sheet by moving the paper sheet in the transverse direction after the scanning start in the image forming section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
