MULTIMEDIA REPRODUCTION DEVICE AND BACKGROUND IMAGE DISPLAY METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase an immersive feel into a virtual space given by a multimedia reproduction system.

SOLUTION: A menu screen generation part generates image data for a menu screen 50 including a list of reproduction items of digital contents. A reproduction screen generation part processes the reproduction of the digital contents and generates image data for a reproduction screen including information regarding the reproduction contents. A background generation part generates and displays a background region 160 where a decorative object 162 drifting in a three-dimensional space is drawn as the background of each of the menu screen and the reproduction screen. When acquiring reproduction instructions from a user, the background generation part uses an image having such visual effects that the user visually enters into the corner side of the three-dimensional space for changing the background region 160 with transition from the menu screen to the reproduction screen.
