<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game device capable performing a complicated operation even with a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The game device includes an acquisition means, a gravity direction calculation means, a first moving direction calculation means, and a game processing means. The acquisition means successively acquires acceleration data. The gravity direction calculation means calculates a gravity direction expressed with the direction of an input device as a reference on the basis of the respective values of two or more pieces of the acceleration data acquired within a predeterminedperiod. The first moving direction calculation means calculates a first moving direction which is the moving direction of the input device expressed with the direction of the input device as the reference on the basis of the respective values of two or more pieces of the acceleration data acquired within the prescribed period.
