<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb filter capable of suppressing pressure loss in an initial period of exhaust gas treatment in a state that the trapping efficiency of particulate matter in the exhaust gas is kept high. <P>SOLUTION: The honeycomb filter is provided with porous partitioning walls for defining and forming a plurality of cells to form channels for a fluid and in the filter, prescribed cells each of which keeps one end part opened and the other end part sealed and remaining cells each of which keeps one end part sealed and the other end part opened are arranged reciprocally. The partitioning walls have an average fine pore diameter of 8-18μm and the common logarithm standard deviation of the fine pore diameters is 0.2 to 0.5 in fine pore diameter distribution in the case the fine pore diameter is graphed by a normal logarithm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
