CONNECTOR FOR OPTICAL WAVEGUIDE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method of manufacturing a connector for optical waveguide by which the productivity of a ferrule member is improved and the connection loss with a counterpart connector is suppressed.

SOLUTION: The connector 11 for optical waveguide is obtained by performing: a centering step in which an optical waveguide 2 is centered with respect to the ferrule member 13 by regulating the position of the end of the optical waveguide 2 inserted into an insertion hole 13b of the ferrule member 13 with the positioning part of a positioning member 16 which is arranged facing to the distal end of the ferrule member 13; and an adhesion step in which the optical waveguide 2 is fixed on the ferrule member 13 by filling the gap between the optical waveguide 2 inserted through the insertion hole 13b and the insertion hole 13b with an adhesive 18.
