<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake device for a carrier having a simple structure which is capable of reliably applying a brake by a relatively small operational force, and adjusting the braking force. <P>SOLUTION: A pair of brake shoes 12 for applying the brake by pressing upper portions of wheels of a pair of fixed casters are mounted on both sides of a brake shoe supporting bar 13 in a downward height-adjusting manner. A straight brake arm 15 with a brake pedal mounted on a terminating end thereof is oscilatably and pivotally supported by a pivotally supporting part with its fore end being provided on a bottom of a truck frame. The brake shoe supporting bar 13 is arranged orthogonal to the brake arm 15, and connected to a middle part of the brake arm 15 via a link coupling part 14. The brake shoe 12 is formed in a rectangular box shape with a lower end thereof being opened. An adjustment screw 12a is protruded from an upper part thereof.
