PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing unit which can prevent toner from leaking through the joints of the ceiling materials or of developing unit components. SOLUTION: This developing unit uses elastic components. At least one of those elasticity components is made gradually narrower toward its ends to overlap other elastic components.
