PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen-partitioned lighting backlight which can prevent variations in luminance caused by an electrode of a fluorescence tube and single-side driving, while controlling light-emitting luminance of the backlight independently for each partitioned region. SOLUTION: A fluorescence tube 21 is located at the front side (liquid crystal display panel side) of a trough part of each reflecting plate 22 arranged to be shifted to right and left sides. A part of the fluorescence tube 21 including an electrode at the center of the screen is arranged to be hidden below a crest part of the other side reflecting plate 22 which is located with the crest part and trough parts shifted to each other. In case of single-side driving of the fluorescence tube 21, a region with relatively low light-emitting luminance at the ground side is hidden below the crest part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
