PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute a desired function more readily. SOLUTION: An on-screen display control part 26 displays a shortcut menu, consisting of a shortcut button corresponding to the existing button of a remote controller and to which a predetermined function is assigned by a user on a display part 27. A receiving part 22 receives a control signal, transmitted when a button corresponding to the shortcut button provided to the remote controller, has been operated. A processing execution part 25 executes functions assigned to the shortcut button selected by the control signal. The present invention is applicable to television receivers.
