PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a user who is unfamiliar with the operation of a video reproducing device for reproducing a disk on the market tends to be confused owing to a menu picture configuration which is different in response to the disk, since the main story of the video, a privilege video, a sound and language selection picture, and a subtitle language selection picture are selectable on the menu picture but the way of authoring is different by each content concerning an optical disk with menu data including the disk on the market such as a DVD-ROM. SOLUTION: A reproduction control command included in title selection picture information is analyzed without directly using animation data of title selection menu picture information recorded in the optical disk with title selection picture information. Then, video data of a title selection picture are generated so as to be re-constituted as the title selection picture where user operations are unified for selecting the titles of the various optical disks.
