PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for an electrode foil for an aluminum electrolytic capacitor capable of obtaining a higher capacitance. SOLUTION: The electrode foil for the electrolytic capacitor is manufactured by a chemical or/and electrochemical etching to an aluminum foil in an etchant mixed with at least one kind of nitric acid, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, and hydrofluoric acid in a hydrochloric-acid aqueous solution. A dicarboxylic acid having a carbon number of an odd number such as malonic acid, glutaric acid, pimelic acid, azelaic acid or the like is added to the etchant in this case. It is preferable that the concentration of the dicarboxylic acid is 1.0 to 5.0 wt.% and the temperature of the etchant is 25 to 35°C. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
