PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair detergent composition that maintains a deodorant effect for many hours, has excellent prevention effects on dandruff and itch, no creaky feeling in rinsing and an excellent sense of use. SOLUTION: The hair detergent composition comprises (A) an anionic surfactant, (B) a hydroxypyridone derivative, (C) a water-swellable compound, (D) one or more kinds of cationized polymers selected from a cationized cellulose and cationized guar gum and (E) a polyhydric alcohol and has pH 3.0-5.5 at 25°C.
