PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a human basic fibroblast growth factor having amino acid sequence Ala-Gly-Ser- at N-terminus and substantially free from any kind of human basic fibroblast growth factor having a different N-terminus amino acid sequence. SOLUTION: The subject described above is attained by providing the human basic fibroblast growth factor having amino acid sequence Ala-Gly-Ser- at N-terminus, and substantially free from any kind of human basic fibroblast growth factor having a different N-terminus amino acid sequence, and a composition thereof.
