The invention relates to a device and method for the optical examination and evaluation of a biologically active and/or activatable substance (2) by applying infrared, visible or ultraviolet light. The substance to be examined or evaluated is optically excited so that it either emits light (in particular fluorescence analysis) or modifies the wavelength of the applied light (particularly Raman analysis). According to the invention, the device comprises the following components: a light source (3) operated by electric energy, an optical light guide (4) by means of which the light emitted by the light source (3) is supplied as radiation to the substance to be examined, an optical or optoelectronical sensor device (5) allocated to the substance (2) to be examined, which detects the light emitted by or modified by the biologically active and/or activatable substance (2), an optical or optoelectronical spectrometer device (6) allocated to the sensor device (5) by means of which the light emitted by the substance (2) or whose wavelength has been modified by the substance (2) is measured with respect to the light intensity at at least one frequency or with respect to the frequency displacement, a corresponding measuring signal being emitted to an evaluation circuit which is allocated to the spectrometer device (6), and the device comprising a measuring surface section (11) on its upper or outer side, whose shape and dimension is adapted to the biologically active and/or activatable substance (2). |
