The method involves determining temperature (T1) of a heat exchanger (3) in a solar panel (1), and activating a guiding device for guiding the exchanger from an energy collector to a heat accumulator. The temperature (T2) of the heat exchanger in a connection pipeline (4) is determined and the temperature difference between the temperatures measured in the panel and the pipeline is determined. The activation and deactivation criteria for the guiding device are corrected by the difference, and the guiding device is activated and deactivated based on the corrected criteria.
