A method for improving recording quality, and an optical disc device thereof are provided to obtain the most adequate recording data by controlling a time delay to achieve the most adequate holding time and setup time for a recording clock and recorded data. A method for improving recording quality includes a step of monitoring a phase difference between a recording clock signal and a recorded data signal; and a step of detecting a recording point by controlling a time delay of the recording clock signal and the recorded data signal by a monitoring operation. A standard edge of the recording clock signal is behind a phase of the recorded data. An optical disc device thereof comprises at least two delay units(10,20) and a monitor unit(30). The delay unit performs a delay control operation for the recorded data signal and the recording clock signal. The monitor unit sets delay time by monitoring the phase difference between the recording clock signal and the recorded data signal.
