<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face image collating apparatus which prevents registered face images from including others' face images in updating. <P>SOLUTION: The face image collating apparatus, which identifies a person using face images while updating previously stored face images with input face images sequentially input, has a storage part for storing three or more face images in advance, and an update means for calculating a degree of similarity between the three or more face images stored in the storage part and the input face images and, if the intermediate degree of similarity that is not the highest or lowest degree of similarity exceeds an update threshold value, updating the stored face image with the input face image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
