<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To illuminate a keyboard or the like without newly forming a projected part on the display screen side of a cover unit in a notebook computer. <P>SOLUTION: A portable computer having a body unit including a keyboard and a cover unit having a display screen on one surface is provided with: (a) a latch arranged in the vicinity of the upper end edge part of the cover unit; (b) a latch receiving part which is arranged in the body unit, and when the cover unit is closed, is engaged with the latch to fix the body unit and the cover unit on the closed position; (c) a light source embedded from the surface of the cover unit in the vicinity of the latch; and (d) a light reflection surface capable of reflecting light from the light source to the keyboard in the opened state of the cover in order to illuminate the keyboard. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
