<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new peptide and provide a method for producing the same, an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACE inhibitor) containing the new peptide as an effective component, a pharmaceutical composition containing the ACE inhibitor and health food or food. <P>SOLUTION: A pentapeptide comprising a specific L-amino acid sequence, the ACE inhibitor containing the peptide comprising the L-amino acid sequence as an effective component, the pharmaceutical composition, the health food and the food containing the ACE inhibitor are provided.
