<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new peptide and provide a method for producing the same, an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACE inhibitor) containing the new peptide as an effective component, a pharmaceutical composition containing the ACE inhibitor and health food or food. <P>SOLUTION: The peptide comprises a specific L-amino acid sequence produced by decomposing a protein extracted from spirulina with a protease and isolating from the decomposed product. The ACE inhibitor contains the peptide as an effective component. The pharmaceutical composition, the health food and the food containing the ACE inhibitor are provided.
