PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recording disk control information in a recordable optical disk, and especially a method for recording recording strategy information for every piece of speed information and every speed in disk control information.

SOLUTION: When forming disk control information in a control area of an optical disk having at least one recording layer, at least one piece of disk control information is provided in the above control area. The disk control information has applicable speed in the recording layer for every recording layer. It is characterized in that at least one piece of recording strategy information is recorded for every applicable speed in the disk control information. Consequently, It can efficiently deal with recording and reproduction of the optical disk by applying standardized disk control information in a uniformed manner.
