ANALYSIS METHOD OF POLYCHLORINATED BIPHENYL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analysis method capable of determining PCB by removing sufficiently by simple operation, a coexisting material contained in a hydrophobic sample including polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) and disturbing determination of PCB. SOLUTION: This analysis method of PCB is characterized by including (1) a process for bringing the hydrophobic sample into contact with oleum impregnated silica gel satisfying following conditions, as a pretreatment process, and (2) an immunoassay process utilizing an antigen-antibody reaction between the PCB subjected to the pretreatment and the antibody. Normally, the oleum impregnation amount is 0.5-5 mass times to the silica gel, and the sample is brought into contact with the oleum impregnated silica gel filled in a column. The oleum impregnated silica gel is prepared by impregnating oleum having 5-40 mass% of free SO3concentration into the silica gel having a BET specific surface area of 250-450 m2/g and a pore volume of 1.4-2.6 cm3/g.
