The invention relates to a liquid electrolyte battery having dynamic mixing and overheating protection. Electrodes (2) are arranged vertically in the housing (1). Said housing is filled with a liquid electrolyte (3). A heating element on the base (4) is embodied in such a manner that the heatable area of the housing base (1e) represents a maximum of 60% of the surface of the housing base and that the heatable area extends at a right-angle and central to the electrode plates (2). The invention also relates to a mixing device having overheating protection which is characterised by the following characteristics; a heat protection plate (5) is arranged between the housing base (1e) and the lower edge (2a) of the electrodes (2), two plates (6a, 6b) are arranged between the vertical housing walls and the lateral edges of the electrodes, whereby the upper area thereof is embodied as an over-flow funnel (7a, 7b). The upper edges of the over-flow funnel (7a, 7b) protrude a few millimeters above the electrolyte level (3a) such that during a movement of the battery in the vehicle, the electrolyte (3) is projected into the ladle-type funnel (7a, 7b) and subsides towards the base. |
