The method involves converting an image (1) e.g. human photo, into a color image (3), and simplifying the image (3) to an outline image (5) using a graphic computer program (2). The image (5) is transmitted to a sand jet foil (7) and is cut out from the foil using a cut plotter such that the foil is fastened to a substrate (8). The image (5) is included into the substrate using a sand jet blower, and converted into a vector diagram outline image using the program. The image (5) is in-milled into the substrate using a computer numerical control (CNC) steered milling plant.
