The method involves pivoting a toothing tool (9) around a pivoting axis (12) for relative movement between the tool and a toothed workpiece (8) along an axis of rotation (10) of the tool, where a rolling movement takes place between the workpiece and the tool. A workpiece holder (6) is provided for gripping, transporting, clamping, processing and storing of the workpiece. The holder removes the workpiece in a loading position of a transporting device, and transports the workpiece to an active area of the tool. The holder stores the work-piece at the device (15), after processing. An independent claim is also included for a device for manufacturing toothed workpiece.
