<p>A rotary engine (1) is formed by receiving a substantially triangular rotor (20) in a cocoon-shaped housing (10) having an inner peripheral surface (10a) of a trochoid curve. An intake pipe (50) and an exhaust pipe (60) are communicated to the housing, and base end sections of the pipes are communicated with each other and shut off from exterior space. On the inner peripheral surface of the housing are formed a cooling region (11) cooled by a cooling mechanism (13) and a heating region (12) heated by a heating mechanism (14). In each of three operation chambers (30) formed between the housing and the rotor, gas sucked from the intake pipe contracts by being cooled by the cooling region and then expands by being heated by the heating region. Such contraction and expansion of the gas apply rotational force to the rotor.</p> |
