PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a photographing operation is continued although image quality of a picked-up image is deteriorated. SOLUTION: A temperature sensor 108 is provided at the back of an imaging element 21, a temperature of the image sensing element 21 is measured at all the time during through picture display, and a measurement result is outputted to an MPU 101. The MPU 101 compares a temperature (t) of the imaging element 21 inputted from the temperature sensor 108 with a preset threshold value tc. When the temperature (t) of the image sensing element 21 becomes equal with or higher than the threshold value tc, a warning is displayed on a back liquid crystal monitor 23, and through picture display on the back liquid crystal display 23 is stopped after the lapse of a predetermined time, e.g., 15 sec.
