PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of adjusting operating parameters of a robot to adjust an operating temperature to obtain a significantly shorter cycle time than a cycle time obtained by using a present method (1) by providing an operating temperature below a limit value while the operating temperature is adjusted to obtain a slightly longer cycle time than a cycle time obtained by using the present method, and (2) even if it is necessary to operate at an operating temperature slightly above the limit value. SOLUTION: This method of adjusting the operating parameters to move an effector tool along a given path in an optimum cycle time comprises a step (140) of modifying the operating parameter values to cause the cycle time to approach its optimum value. During the step, the values of the operating parameters are modified to approach an extremum of a compromise function, the compromise function comprising at least first and second terms, the first term being a function of the cycle time and the second term being a function of the temperature and/or the degree of wear.
