PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a redox reaction system through a hydrophobic electron transfer substance, for example, an electron transfer reaction system between an oxidation-reducing agent and a protein or a polypeptide through the hydrophobic electron transfer substance, and to provide an enzymatic reaction system based on the reaction system. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the redox reaction system and to the enzymatic reaction system based on the reaction system characterized by carrying out electron transfer between the oxidation-reducing agent and a substance subjected to the oxidation-reduction through a single walled carbon nanotube as the hydrophobic electron transfer substance.
