DISPLAY SUBSTRATE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

A display substrate and a fabrication method thereof are provided to form a black matrix on a second surface of the display substrate to prevent back light provided to a channel layer formed under a second metal pattern. A pixel part is formed on a first surface(111) of a transparent substrate in which a light transmissive area and a light blocking area are defined, and the pixel part corresponds to the light transmissive area. A black matrix(BM) is formed on a second surface(112) facing the first surface, corresponding to the light blocking area. A planarization layer(OC) is formed to cover the black matrix. The forming of the black matrix includes the steps of forming a passivation layer(160) on the first surface including the pixel part, and forming the black matrix on the second surface of the transparent substrate including the passivation layer on the first surface.
