APPARATUS FOR RECOGNIZING FIGURES

An apparatus for recognizing figures is provided to improve efficiency by removing the limit of direction and position in which a user inputs the figure and reducing the operation needed for recognizing the figures. An apparatus(10) for recognizing figures includes an inputting unit(20), a memory unit(22), a processor(24) and a displaying unit(26). The inputting unit is applied with user's input, which is continuously inputted and expressed in a curve. The memory unit stores the information of positions of points which constitute the curve. The processor receives the information of positions of points from the memory unit, analyzes the geometric form of the curve, and judges the figure which corresponds to the curve according to the analyzed geometric form. The displaying unit displays the judged figure.
